Weekly Wrap: Regional outperformance set to continue
The VNI closed down on Friday amid grim regional performance but still posted its third straight weekly gain (+3%). Breadth on the VNI declined but remained positive with 200 gainers vs 161 losers. Weekly average daily turnover of US$229m was down slightly (-4%) WoW but still +39% above the YTD average. Confirming the stability of the Vietnamese dong, the currency is now 0.5% higher against the (strong) US dollar than it was a year ago.
